Music plays an important part in the life of St Germans School. All children have a weekly class music lesson taught by a specialist Music Teacher. In addition peripatetic teachers offer the chance to learn instruments such as keyboards and guitars. Performing is given high status at our school as it gives children confidence and enjoyment. This can take the form of groups performing to a class, classes performing to the school and parents, or the Key Stage Productions at Christmas in which all pupils are given a part. Children are given the opportunity to learn the recorder from an early age. The older children are all given the opportunity to perform with the hand chimes. An annual orchestra day involving members of the school community is also a great success. In addition to performances in school, our children take part in local Harvest Festivals and Carol singing. Recently we sang and played in our local church, and we have had the chance to perform with a local Male voice Choir.
