Modern Foreign Languages

At Key Stage 2 children have the opportunity to experience modern foreign languages. This is primarily French which is studied by planned progression using a scheme of work. Children learn to understand and use the spoken language and to recognise and write some words and phrases through speaking and listening, role play, video, songs and games. They also learn about life in France and the cultural differences between England and France. Many links are made with other subjects, such as English, maths (counting, money, time, date etc.), geography and music.
