Uniform at St Germans School  

We believe it is important that children should wear comfortable, safe and sensible clothing, whilst looking smart and being suitably dressed.

Wearing a uniform gives makes children appear equal and gives a sense of belonging.

The Friends of St Germans also sell second hand uniform.

All Parents and Carers have agreed to support the school's policy on uniform by signing the Home School Agreement when joining the school.

The following guidance outlines our uniform expectations:

Girls:

  • Grey skirts or pinafore dress  
  • Grey or black trousers/shorts 
  • Navy blue cardigan, sweat shirt or school fleece with the school logo
  • White / navy blue polo shirt (available with school logo) or white blouse
  • In warm weather, a blue and white striped or gingham dress
  • White, grey or navy socks or tights
  • Plain dark-coloured shoes or summer sandals (no open toes); no trainers please. 

Boys: 

  • Grey or black trousers or shorts, 
  • Navy blue sweatshirt or school fleece with the school logo
  • White / navy blue polo shirt (available with school logo) or white shirt
  • Grey, black or navy socks
  • Plain dark-coloured shoes or summer sandals (no open toes); no trainers please. 

P.E:

  • Suitable footwear: trainers or plimsolls, (please buy velcro fasteners or slip-ons for younger children), 
  • Navy or black shorts
  • White T-shirt. (available with school logo)
  • In winter, a plain, dark tracksuit or jogging bottoms would be beneficial. 

Trainers are NOT allowed to be worn at any time other than for PE lessons and clubs.

Jewellery: 

No dangling earrings, necklaces or bracelets.

Watches and stud or sleeper ear-rings are acceptable. 

Make-up and nail varnish should NOT be worn to school

Hairbands, ribbons/bows or ‘scrunchies’ should be plain and either blue or black in colour. 

Hairbands should not have large flowers or bows attached.  

Clothing is expensive and children frequently misplace items. It is essential that all clothing is marked with their name.
